DEMOCRATS!!!!

I don’t claim to know a lot about history except what I have lived through.  Those Democrats have about ruined us as a country for the last 50 years.  FDR started the Social Security of course.  At that time, everyone was supposed to be dead before they collected.  Most of know that by now.  At that time, all Social Security payments were completely free from all sorts of taxation and anything else that would deplete their intent.    Jack Kennedy didn’t have time to do much in his tenure in the White House.  But then Lyndon Johnson made up for any lost time.  He completely destroyed just about everything that was the true U.S.A.   He and his Democrat buddies in Congress together gave the store away.  I can see him now telling the country how wonderful he was with his Great Society program.  He had all the answers except one – who would pay the bills for all his giveaways.  Well, of course you know the answer to that one by now.  WE are paying the price every day in all that we do and in all those taxes we are paying and paying and paying and have been paying for a long, long time and will pay for an even longer time.

And then Jimmy Carter came along and added even more stupid programs to those that were already there.  The Dept. of Energy is his crowning achievement though.  We are paying for that  fiasco every single day, too.

And then Bill Clinton came along and he has done even more damage.  When he was Governor in Arkansas, he raised taxes 148 times.  But the media didn’t tell anyone about that one.  They wanted their darling Bill to be elected and he was.  Just get the American media on your side and you can get by with anything.  As long as there is a story there and they can bring in all their people and equipment and make a big deal out of it.

On the Republican side, I can’t say a lot good about Eisenhower.  He really wasn’t cut out to be president.  He was a good guy, I’m sure, and liked to play golf a lot, but that was about it.    George Bush was a great president.  But he was a victim of those funny Democrats.  They refused to pass any of is legislation so we had gridlock over and over again.  And the Democrats just laughed up their sleeves.  Had put one over on the American public once again.  Ha Ha.  So funny.

Then when George W. came along, they did the same thing to him.  And are still doing it every day when they can get the media to print something else.  But the Democrats and the media were all laughing so hard and that was all that mattered.  To heck with the taxpayer.  To heck with the government.  None of that mattered.  It was the gotcha’ atmosphere once again.

Pay attention when it comes time to vote once again.  Do not listen to the media.  Study the issues yourself.  Make up your own mind.  Then vote.  But by all means, vote.  I said earlier I think only those with a job should be allowed to cast a vote.  That would be too hard to enforce since there are so many tricks to the trade these days.  Maybe if only honest people could vote.  Wonder how that would work.   Oh well, something will come along to straighten out this horrible mess.  Always does.

STUFF

Well, I don’t know about you but I am sick and tired of all this STUFF going on everywhere. The national debt is just plumb disgusting.  When you think that all those people who have never been born yet having to pay off all this stilly STUFF  that these politicians have thought up just makes you sick.  And don’t think it is primarily because of the Republicans because it most certainly is not.  Those Democrats have about ruined all of us.

The so-called housing crisis started under Bill Clinton because he and his bunch lowered the rules for buying a house in order to get more of those so-called poor into housing.  Well, I’m sure that was a good thought but just look at the mess it has created.  And George Bush didn’t do anything to stop any of it either.  And then this Obama has made it far, far worse all the time.  And now the whole country is in debt up to its neck.  Stupid STUFF!!!

And now they tell us that gas prices and food prices HAVE to rise because it costs more to ship STUFF!  Well, that’s a hoot if I ever heard one.  Obviously, we have oil running out our ears around here and yet we are buying from people across the world and being told we need to not be so dependent on foreign oil.  The way I see it is God put that oil under this land for us to use so how come we aren’t using any of it.  Ridiculous STUFF!  absolutely ridiculous.

A man stopped me at a gas station one day and asked me if I felt guilty about driving a big car.   I said I most certainly did not.  Why should I.  I enjoy driving it and have been driving that sort of car for years and years and years.  He was a so-called green person and was driving an old clunker – which uses more oil and gas – and pulling a trailer – which uses more oil and gas.  More STUFF!  ridiculous STUFF!   Electric cars?  Had them in the 1930’s and 40’s.  As long as you only wanted to go around the block, they were a lot of fun.  Not for me.  Not for most people.

And why should our food prices rise.  We have enough food here in this country that we ship it overseas regularly in order to feed all those hungry people we see in the pictures and on the television.  So why should we be paying more for our food here.  Doesn’t make much sense to me.  Just more STUFF!  stupid STUFF!  In the first place, we have farmer’s markets all over the country.  Why are we shipping food in from everywhere else.  Mexican tomatoes that had food poisoning a couple of years ago.  Why not buy the local STUFF! Even Wal-Mart pushes the local STUFF!  So buy that.

Seems to me that one solution to all our problems would be to make it mandatory that a person  have a job before they can vote.  Used to be back when, a person had to own property in order to vote.  Now everyone votes, even those who have no idea what or who they are voting for.  Just follow the crowd.  Plug into the internet and do whatever you are told.   If they cart you to the polls, you vote for them.  If they provide a meal, vote for them.  Whatever works.   And now we have people everywhere who do not work, live on the handout, and vote for administrations who think that is the way  everyone should live.  So maybe if everyone had to have a viable job before they voted, it might solve some of these problems with STUFF and more STUFF and more STUFF!

 

QUICK SCRATCH COOKING

I’m sure everyone has heard that if you cook from scratch you will save money.  This  is definitely true.  I cooked for years without ever using much in the way of mixes or shortcut ingredients.  It is easy, quick, and usually very good.  And certainly healthier.   

Recently, I was in a hurry  to get dinner on the table, so I literally threw together a good meal.  I had ground beef in the freezer, brought that out and thawed it in the microwave.  Then I  made  meatballs out of the meat, mixing it with  an egg, a small handful of oatmeal, and  salt, pepper, and garlic.  I browned the meatballs in a skillet and then poured in one can of golden mushroom soup.  I turned off the heat and mixed in a half can water, stirring until all lumps were gone.  

Meanwhile, I had retrieved from the freezer a package of frozen noodles that were cooked earlier.  I placed noodles in a casserole dish and microwaved until partially thawed.  Then I poured the meatball mixture over noodles.  I slid the covered casserole in the oven, turned it to 350 degrees and left the room.  

By the time the meatball and noodle dish was done in about 30 to 45 minutes,  I had changed from my working clothes, started a load of clothes in the washer, and picked up the den area.  

I set the table for dinner, opened and heated a can of green beans and prepared mixed frozen vegetables from the freezer.  By this time, everyone was ready to eat and I was ready to serve.

Quick, easy, filing meal costing very little.  Only real expense was the meat.

LAUGH AGAIN!

I’m glad I have learned how to laugh.  If not, I would be crazy, that’s for sure.  Several years ago, I had snakes in my house.  That is enough to make you sit up and take notice.  First time, I came down my stairs and there, curled up at the bottom of the stairs was a snake with head raised.  If I had not seen him, I would surely have been bitten.  No doubt about that one.  But as it was, I skirted myself around him and cautioned my daughter not to move.  I hurried out the door to the garage, grabbed a shovel and came back and smacked him good.  Then I shoveled him up and threw him outside.  I have heard it said that if a dead snake is around, other snakes will not come around.  So I left him on the deck and forgot about it.   But just in case, I put the shovel in the closet inside the house.  Wouldn’t hurt to have it handy, just in case. 

About a week later, I came downstairs again and there was another one, looking just the same, all curled up and waiting for me.  Definitely scared me again.   I hurried to the closet, grabbed the shovel and smacked that one, too.  Now, I was really concerned.  It was possible that the first snake had managed to get in through a door somewhere, but two snakes would not have done that.  So that meant I had an access to my house for all snakes and didn’t know where that was.  

I began looking around every drain and pipe I could think of.  After awhile, I remembered there had been a pipe under the house and, at one time, the floor had been lifted around that pipe.  So, sure enough, I found the place where the pipe had been and I could easily lift the floor off the pipe.  I called my son and he brought something out to permanently close off the pipe and seal the area around it.  

That night, I was awakened by a sound I never expected to hear in my house.  It was a rattlesnake, rattling as much as possible.  I lay in the bed thinking to myself that he could not possibly have come upstairs.  So I was hearing him somewhere else.  I got out of bed and began searching for the sound.  The loudest place was in the shower.   So guess the rattlesnake had found the pipe and was making noises about it all.  But I knew he could not possibly get into the house.  It took me awhile but I did manage to get back to sleep that night.   After that, I had a plumber close off the pipe where it entered the house.  I didn’t want to wake up and hear any more rattlesnakes, whether they could get in or not.

Then today, I walked into a downstairs room and there was something skinny, brown, and curled up on the floor, looking just like a snake.  I was instantly afraid, but noticed that the form did not move when I did.  So I turned on more lights and started to go find something to poke it with.  Then I realized that I had been working on some old papers earlier and was wrapping rubber bands around them.  I wrapped one of the rubber bands and it broke and flipped through the air.  I was busy so I didn’t try to find the rubber band at the time.  And now here it was, all curled up and skinny and brown on the  floor in front of me.  

So you see, I have something to laugh at once again.  I might be half crazy by now, but  one thing for sure, I’m never bored.

CHINA

Well, I noticed in the newspaper and on all the TV stations that Obama welcomed the Chinese to our country.  Is he now going to move them into the spare bedroom?  Just wrote a blog a few days ago about how I won’t buy Chinese products anymore because they ain’t no good.  So here they come.  Advertising in Times Square, pushing for everything they can.  Making you want their art and their music and their way of life.  Don’t think so.  

Watch out!  They have already taken over a lot of our production.  Used to be, we Americans made our own stuff and were proud of what we made.  Then Japan came along and everything for sale said ‘made in Japan’ for years and years.  Now, everything says ‘made in China’.  Watch your back!  Soon, they will have moved into that spare bedroom and nothing will be ours anymore.  

Just read an email that told about how the light bulbs currently being made in China and sold in lots of stores here, will catch on fire, spitting actual fire out of the bottom.  The email recommended that no one ever buy a light bulb from China again.  Is the cheaper price of the light bulb worth burning your house down?  Not mine.  I will make a point of never buying light bulbs manufactured in China again.  In fact, I have already said I will not buy products manufactured in China again. 

I’m sure they are nice people but I don’t want them living in my spare bedroom.  Do you?

Moderation, Spending, and Plans

I see in the papers and on the television that Obama’s bunch is now going to fix the finances of this great country. Seems that Barney Frank has a plan. It is called the Consumer Financial Protection Agency and would be set up as a branch of the government – as usual. It will be part of a broader effort to take over regulation of financial institutions. What in the world is going on with all this administration. First, they spend all the money they can get their hands on. Then they put banks out of business all over the country and now they want to fix everything with the financial world. Seems to me that they don’t know what in the heck they are doing, not now or ever. Of course this is their ultimate plan, to take over everything in this country including all the financial operations. They have their finger in the housing mortgages and now are investigating. What is wrong with that? They are what is wrong with that to begin with. Them and their no good loans made to people that they knew could not repay them. And  their heavy-handed ways of overseeing all the financial operations of the country. Take a look around you. Notice that the administration is beginning to run everything from loans, to the stock market, to everyday things such as your credit cards and your automobiles. And now Barney Frank states that this agency must be created because the Federal Reserve and bank regulators squandered their powers to police lending abuses. Oh my, just listen to that and to who is doing the talking. I did not know they were supposed to be policing the lending abuses in the first place. Who put all these people in charge. Lending abuses are caused by individual lenders to individuals who should not be approved for borrowing in the first place.

Obama states that individuals who have had mortgage problems are being abused by the financial sector. Not so. People who have suffered because of the mortgage crisis are those who did not have any business being in a mortgage they could not afford to begin with. Moderation in all things you know. Including your finances. So many people think they can have everything they see or desire.  But then when it comes time to pay their bills, they cannot do so. It is sad to see the people who buy the pretty shiny things they will never need and then say they cannot afford food for their families. A little personal responsibility would take care of that problem.

That is the same issue that we have with those who say they cannot afford health insurance. They can afford health insurance if they want to. That is their option. They do not have health insurance as a matter of choice. They think that if they do not buy it, it will be given to them. And this is what this Democratic liberal Congress is trying to do for everyone. Give everything to everyone, regardless of cost to everyone else. Won’t work and cannot be done. We already owe taxes through the next three generations. Enough!!! You have only to look at Canada and the many countries of Europe to see that we live far, far better than the people there have ever even thought of. Why jeopardize our way of life in order to satisfy a few individuals who – by choice- refuse to practice personal responsibility.

Vote Republican as soon as you get a chance. And pray, pray, pray every day for our wonderful Country and all our citizens rights. If this administration has their way, they will destroy all the rights we have so enjoyed for all our lives. It is happening right now every day. Pay attention!

HR 3200 / The Affordable Health Care Choices Act

I received an email recently entitled The Truth About The Health Care Bills. The man who sent this said he had read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200, The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. He also says his particular expertise is in constitutional law and had read the entire bill in order to see if any of it was really unconstitutional. He then stated that it was far worse than he had even imagined.

Here are some of things he mentions:

The Law absolutely does provide for rationing of health care, particlarly for senior citizens and other classes of citizens, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services and forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.

The Bill will eventually force private insurance companies out of business and will put everyone in a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will be made by federal bureaucrats and they will not be health care professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of medical devices will be strictly controlled.

The health care bill is not really to provide affordable health care choices. Instead, it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred or even been thought of.  Major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed.  Just think about that for a moment.  Our Constitution will actually be destroyed by the so-called Affordable Health Care Plan.

First will be the changes between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of the U.S.Government.  Congress will be transferring to the Obama Administration authority over the lives of the American people and the businesses they own.  And Congress doesn’t have any authority to legislate in most of those areas to begin with.  Congress has no power to regulate health care.  Period.  But they are doing it or trying to every single day.

This  Bill also provides for access by the appointees of the Obama administration of all of your personal healthcare information, including all your personal financial information and the information of your employer, physician, and hospital.  All of this is in direct violation of the 4th Amendment protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures.  And there will be no right to privacy on any level anymore.

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance or if you have private insurance that is called not ‘acceptable’ to the Health Choices Administrator’ appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you.  It is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. You cannot appeal or contest a tax, although it is definitely depriving someone of property without the ‘due process of law.’   You will be required to pay that tax.  Period.

So that takes care of 3 of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so much.  The 9th Amendment and 10th Amendment will also be gone because after this bill is passed, neither the people nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were theirs to control.  Such as the rights preserved to the States or to the people under the 10th.

This is not about health care.  It is about seizing power and limiting rights of the people of this Country.

And I have already written earlier about how this administration plans to deny you the right to bear arms and the right to free speech.  So that doesn’t leave much in the Constitution, does it.

Write your Congressman.  Today.  And write again tomorrow.  Maybe they can still hear you.

Bonds and Taxes

Another interference into the life of the individual in these United States of America. I was told only yesterday that the government, meaning the liberal Democrats, have devised another new tax system. The average American thinks that streets and sewers and schools built in this country are paid for by their tax dollars. This is not true. Those new city and county and state projects are paid for with bonds. The city or county or state or schools or whatever is needed issue bonds in the amounts that they need to get their construction under way. These bonds are put out for the public to buy at an interest rate that will attract buyers. In effect, they are borrowing money from the investors to pay for these projects. The life of these bonds can vary from a few years to up to about 30 years. The interest rates are not generally very high, but they are usually issued as ‘tax free bonds’. This is what draws the taxpayer to purchase these bonds. Because he can draw interest every six months for the life of the bond or until the bond is called. And he does not have to pay tax on this interest. If the municipality or school or college is able to pay off the bonds earlier than their life, then the bond will be called and the taxpayer gets his investment (loan) back. The taxpayer can buy bonds that are rated very highly, meaning you are almost assured of getting your money returned to you, or they can take more risk, usually for higher interest rates, gambling on whether or not they will get their full return back.

This method of taxpayer funding for municipalities and schools has been around a long time. It has worked for many years. People want to invest their money where they can make enough to pay for their investment. Remember, when a bond is purchased, that money is not in your pocket and you do not have it to spend for a few years or up to 30 years. So you cannot risk buying bonds if you are not sure you can do without the money for a long time. But the municipalities are willing to pay enough tax free interest to attract a myriad of buyers. This tax free interest is very, very important to the progress of municipalities in these United States.

So now, the liberal Democrats have devised a new method for paying for these bonds. They have put out the word to municipalities that if they will put their bonds out for sale and not make them tax free, the government will pay up to 35% of the interest due on the bonds. How’s that for getting into your back pocket without anyone knowing about this. The usual hidden agenda. And this will eventually kill the tax free bond market. The funds will dry up and people will not invest in the building of new streets or schools or sewers of the city or the county or the state. So who will win in this situation. Certainly not the investor. And not the general public because they will be without those much needed services. And the bond seller won’t win either as he will lose most of his business. But the most important part is that the person who will eventually lose in this endeavor is the average, every day taxpayer. Because he will no longer have the services he is entitled to. He will not have the new schools for his children nor the new streets in his town nor the new sewer and water lines that his town and county are depending upon for their expansion. But he will get to pay more in hometown taxes than he ever has before. Because someone will have to pay to have the old streets fixed and to have the old schools renovated and to have the old water and sewer systems upgraded so that everyone won’t get sick. So who has won in this? Of course, as usual, the liberal Democrats, the so-called Government of today. They will have destroyed another entity of this country of ours. They will have once again brought about the change they talk about which is only hurtful to everyone except them.

I remember when Stalin was powerful and how they said only a handful of people benefitted from progress in Russia – of which there was very little. Only a handful of people lived a really good life with homes on the sea and servants and automobiles and schools for their children. That is where this liberal Democrat Congress is leading our country. To where only THEY will benefit. The rest of the country does not count. Just ask Obama and Nancy Pelosi and they will probably tell you just this – it is their country. They have been waiting a long time to change it the way they want it to be.

Vote Republican as soon as you can.

Presidents

I have been around a long time. I have lived through many an administration, but never have I seen an administration that could compare with the current one. Administrations in the past had their faults, no doubt about that. Both Republican and Democratic have been depicted as tyrants at times and at other times as complete idiots. Both representations were true at the time I am sure.

I remember when Franklin Roosevelt was President and everyone hung onto his every word as though it were gospel. He had been in charge so long that people actually revered him. Many a tear flowed on the day he died. He had been in ill health for several years and really should have resigned, but it was said, ‘you don’t change horses in midstream’. Truman was depicted as an idiot by the media. Of course the media didn’t carry as much weight as they do today. But they reported every single idiotic thing that Truman did. And Truman eventually came to be known as one of our better presidents.

I have lived through the shortages of Eisenhower’s time. I don’t remember any of the reasons, but we had shortages of meat, bacon, sugar, coffee, and just about everything else. The shortages came one after another. And prices soared. It was difficult to buy groceries because everything was in short supply and cost more than normal. But somehow we lived through all of it. Kennedy jumped in on the Bay of Pigs fiasco and got the Vietnam War going full steam. Of course Lyndon Johnson did his fair share of causing trouble by promoting the Vietnam War. Being an old time politician, he never saw a bill he didn’t like and so he passed them constantly. Tried to change everything in the country. Most of it just caused more and more problems. After that of course was Nixon and all his problems. He stopped that horrible war though and everyone was grateful for that. Then came Ford and he wasn’t allowed to do much of anything except set the speed limits on the highways because of the oil shortage. Then Carter came along with his higher and higher taxes.  He was getting 90% of every dollar for awhile. It was truly awful. Didn’t pay to even get up and go to work during his time. But thank heavens for Ronald Reagan who brought some sensibility to the Presidency. He was about the only one that had a good head on his shoulders and really put the country on the right track. In fact, he was probably the best President I had ever seen. Then came George Bush Sr. and I thought he was truly a great president. He faced a Democratic Congress which would not let him pass even one single bill. The Democrats thought that was a funny thing to block the progress of the country. And of course the press was on the side of the liberal Congress and they thought that was funny, too and supported the liberal agenda all the way. Right up to Clinton and his slick ways. He was another one that wanted to change everything and everyone. But he was too slick for his own good and did not manage to change much of anything. George W. Bush was next and again, he faced that Democratic Congress and the liberal, liberal press. And they did the same thing to him that they had done to his father. And they all laughed once again. So very funny to choke the progress of the United States.

And now we come to Barack Obama and his czars. As I said, I have lived through a lot of administrations, but have never seen one like this. The Obama administration has come into office with a full agenda of not only planning to change America, but with a full plan of how to do this. They have in mind to take away your right to bear arms and then will come the destruction of free speech. If both these are taken away, it is easy to take away all the other freedoms from all the people. We have seen it happen in all the countries of the world. I remember Hitler and his ways. The world watched while he not only destroyed a country and its neighbors, but he also destroyed a whole race of people. He was determined that all in this world should belong to him and him alone. And he just about managed to accomplish all of his desires. He had Poland, France and Belgium and all their nearby neighbors. Mussolini in Italy helped him with that section of the world. It was help or be destroyed. And on the other side of the world was Japan and all its glory mongers.

No one thought any of this could happen, but it did. And now no one thinks these things can happen in the United States of America, but they are happening right now. Pay attention. Get that Democratic liberal Congress out of there as quickly as possible. If Obama cannot accomplish his plan within the next couple of years, he is finished. Pray that he will be finished.

Pray constantly for our country. You do not have to go to a church to pray. Just pray in your mind. Ask God to help us all. He will if we but ask.

HR 2454 a.k.a. Cap and Trade

( Cap and Tax  –  Part 2)

Getting back to the Cap and Trade Bill, this is designed to make each company create a certain ‘cap’ on their maximum amount of carbon dioxide emissions. This cap is based on a measured baseline amount. And each one of these companies is given a set amount of emission credits. (Wonder who set the emission credit level? I’ll just bet it was another one of those Democratic liberals). And so then the company must make sure they do not exceed the set amount they are credited with. If they do, they must purchase or ‘trade’ credits with other companies that have extra credits.

First of all, this will turn out to be quite an expensive endeavor for each and every one of the companies that provide us with energy. Therefore, all energy costs will rise. This will make a great impact on all the people of this country, the rich and the poor. It will mean all of their energy costs will rise. In fact, it could cause as much as a 20 percent increase in electric costs almost immediately. And by 2030, there will be a 250 percent increase at the retail level. This is already known and attested to. And here we are in 2009. That means that it will probably increase twice that much by the year 2030.  Who is it that makes up all this drivel that we all have to live with? What is going on in this world that we, as citizens of the United States, seem to have nothing to say about any of the bills that are being rammed through Congress with this new administration? Better vote Republican as soon as you possibly can.

Remember Jimmy Carter’s Dept of Energy and the exorbitant costs to run that bureaucratic mess.  This Cap and Trade bill will probably force the government to have a whole new department which should cost  billions to run.  Just like Jimmy Carter’s Department does today.

Meanwhile, contact any of your Senators and Representatives.  Tell them you don’t want this Cap and Trade bill.  Now that you know what it is.  I don’t think THEY – the liberal Democrats – want any of us to know what is actually in the bill or what it will cost.   All the energy companies are opposed to this bill.  They will be forced to charge more for their services.  Or go out of business.  And no one wants that to happen.  We need them.  We need the energy for this growing country.  And we don’t need the Democrats who always tax and spend.  Remember the old adage, ‘give them an inch and they will take a mile.’  The Democrats certainly fit that niche.
