SICK OF THIS

18 09 2012

Every time I turn on the television set, I have to sit through this ‘program’ all about what Mitt Romney said about those poor, poor people out there.  Well, I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of all the hoopla about what he said.

He said 47% of the people are on the dole in some way and they will not be voting for him because they want to continue on the dole and they know that he will not continue to run the government as a nanny state. Period.  End of subject.

There is nothing wrong about what he said and I am glad he said it.  He has also said we won’t be killing the babies and the old people anymore.  And he said we all will learn something about responsibility for our own lives.  Hooray!  I hope to hear a whole lot more about all this. Finally, someone has the guts and the wherewithall to say it out loud. About time!

I am sick of hearing  about those ‘poor, poor people out there who don’t want to work and never will work.  They can’t afford a house to live in and have to live in a tent.   And I am sick of providing so they can do just that.  I am sick of hearing about those poor people who drag their children around with them and those poor children will never know any better.  It is enough!

So instead of trying to beat the system and living on the dole, they should learn a little responsibility like how to take a shower, get a haircut or at least comb their hair, shine their shoes and go out and get a job.  There are jobs out there.  Might not pay what someone wants and might not be the perfect job for that college educated whizbang person, but something is there.  And everyone has  to start somewhere.  Everyone that has a decent life had to start somewhere.  That is how anyone builds that good life and builds that business and builds that family.  Someone has to begin.   That is the first thing that has to be done.  Begin.

No one should want to be a part of that 47%.  Build a life.  Do it for yourself.  No one else can do it for you – ever.

I’ll be voting for Mitt Romney, that is for sure.  And hoping some of this madness will finally stop.  Been going on since 1960.  Time for it to be over.

HOPE AND CHANGE

9 08 2012

We have all heard a million times about hope and change.  Don’t really know what that means.  It took $68 to fill my car with gas this last weekend.  Guess that means I hope, I hope, I hope that changes soon.  Or maybe it means that I no longer get any change from my dollar bills.  Not sure which it means.

I just hope that the change is that those who know the business start drilling for oil in this country so we can have some good, cheap gasoline in the next couple of years.  That shouldn’t be too hard to do.  There is enough oil below the ground to last us all the rest of our lives.   Why are we not using it!  It is time.  I am tired of hearing about the animals that we need to protect.   I’m sure you have seen the bears on the television screen who are so over-abundant that they are stealing candy from the candy store.  It is time to quit all this nonsense and get the good old U.S.A.back to being the country it has been for a long, long time.   Time for everyone to get up in the morning, put their shoes on and go to work.  Time to stop being important and go home and raise a family.  Time to start teaching the children what life is all about and that means responsibility, responsibility, responsibility.

Maybe that is what is meant by the term, Hope and Change.  Sure hope so.  We sure do need some change.

I am getting pretty sick and tired of all the manipulation in my daily life.  I want all my stuff back   NOW!!!

I want my light bulbs back.  You know, those simple ones we used for years and years  and they always worked just fine and didn’t burn out too often and everything was really hunky dory.  Then, you have this supposed hot dog  who decided we all needed new light bulbs just because HE said so.  Whoever HE is seems to think he is in charge of the light bulb  world.  I don’t know about you, but these squiggly  things that are supposed to last forever do not.  They burn out more often than the others did.  Or at least that is what I find out when I have to hunt up someone to come and change a light bulb again and again and again.

And then I want that dishwasher detergent back that I used for years and years and years.  It got the dishes clean.  All the time, Every single time.  The guy selling dishwashers says he gets calls all the time that the dishes are not getting clean.  It is not the dishwasher that is at fault.  It is the detergent.  It is terrible.  It is a waste of money.  Pour some in, turn on the dishwasher and if you are lucky, maybe some of the less soiled dishes will get sort of clean.  But most of the flatware looks terrible and is streaked because the dishwasher detergents do not work.  I know we should all be proud because we are saving something somewhere by not having any phosphates in our dishwasher detergent, but frankly, I do not feel that way at all.   God knows we have phosphates in our detergent and he thought that was o.k  for many years. And we really don’t need someone else telling us that they are saving the world for us by taking the phosphates out of the dishwasher detergent.  Next thing, they will be telling us we need to drag our dirty dishes to the river and wash them in the flowing water.

I would also like to have decent gasoline prices back again.  That is political  anyway.  Raise those gas prices sky high and blame it on the conservatives because they did this or that or the other and then gradually lower them until at election time, they will be back where they were before.  Just watch it happen.  That is why the prices are going down now.  Not because the situation has changed but because that is the plan for the gasoline prices and then guess who will take the credit for lowering our gasoline prices.   BULL!!!

These are just a few things I want back  NOW!!!  We used to have a simple world where everything was up to the individual as to what he could and would buy.  Try to buy one of those older light bulbs now.  Not only can you not but the factories have closed and put all those people out of work.  Boy, that was really some savings wasn’t it.

And just yesterday I got a packet of mail all about saving the Alaska Wilderness.  I don’t want to save the Alaska Wilderness.  I think it is perfectly alright if we drill for oil there and use what God has given to us to use.   He made this world and He knows we are going to drill for oil.   It is His Alaska Wilderness.  He will allow us to use it.  Fine with me.  I don’t think I have to save any bears or anything like that.

Not when I see pictures on the TV every day about how the bears that they have saved somewhere are drifting into the  backyards because there are too many of them and they do not have enough food now.  Personally, I don’t think that is too smart on the part of the people who have saved all those bears.  God has been taking care of the number of animals for a long, long time now.  He had it down just right.  And didn’t need the help of any of those who would save all the animals.  The animals were all doing just fine.  Even in my area, the deer come into the yards looking for food because there are now too many deer.  Not allowed to kill them for food.  Oh No!  Just going to save them for whatever someone somewhere had in mind.  But I think they forgot to tell the bears or the deer or  the wolves that don’t seem to be able to find enough food to eat these days.   Another example of not knowing what they are doing- as usual.

How about just a normal world for a change.

THAT BIRTH CERTIFICATE ISSUE

31 05 2012

Well, since The Donald has brought up the subject of Obama’s birth certificate once again, I figured I might just as well jump in, too.  I had received the following email sometime ago and just held it here on my desk until I decided to pass it along.  You can check out all the details yourself.  I have not.

Obama’s birth certificate says he was born on August 4, 1961.  It lists his father and says his father  was born in Kenya, East Africa 25 years prior to this.  Kenya did not even exist until 1963,   2 years after Obama was born.  So his father could not have been born in a country that did not even exist at that time. When his father was born there, the area was called British East Africa Protectorate.

Also, the hospital Obama was supposedly born in is listed on the birth certificate as Kapi’olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital’  This hospital was not even named that at the time.  It was called KauiKeolani Children’s Hospital and Kapi’olani Maternity Home.  There was no Kapi’olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital at the time Obama was born.  So why is it listed on his birth certificate.  The name was not changed until 1978 when the hospitals merged.  That is 17 years later.

Also, it is said that in 1961 people of color were called Negroes.  So why does his birth certificate say he is listed as African American when no one had even said that term yet.

As I said, check it out for yourself.  This came from UrbanSurvival.com.   Maybe The Donald is really on to something.  I certainly hope so.  Vote Republican all the way down the list this time.  I certainly will.  Thanks.

DEAR GOD: THANK YOU FOR SO MUCH!

27 05 2012

Well, another holiday weekend about gone and am I ever glad.  I never did care too much for Memorial Day which was called Decoration Day before.  It just never was my favorite time of the year.  Everyone was so somber and sad and I didn’t care much for that part.

My father was a printer at the local newspaper and there was a printer’s plot at the very old local cemetery.  So, every year, we had to attend this somber,  long memorial service for these dead printers.  The cemetery was so old that it had broken grave markers and everything smelled musty and moldy and old.  But my father was very respectful of those who had gone before him and so we went, like it or not.  And we better not have any other plans and we better not complain either.

Usually, it was humid and uncomfortable weather and we had to get all dressed up special for this occasion. That meant Sunday School clothes all the way.  And then we sat on these very old benches that had rusty spots on them.  The whole day was just difficult to deal with.  But we were brought up to always have good manners and be respectful and kind.  So we smiled nicely and spoke to all those older people that we saw once a year.

A Preacher would make a small sermon and say a few prayers.  And then came the really special treat of  a quartet that sang several songs.  They were usually much older people who could not carry a tune in a bucket and they certainly had no harmony between them.  But they had a juice harp to sound out the note and then they would all sing, sometimes together.  We sat glued to our seats, not daring to look at each other for fear we might have to laugh or cry, never sure of which it would be.

When it was all over, we had to stand around while our parents talked to all their old friends and visited for awhile.  However, I wouldn’t mind getting to do that one more time.  Might be fun to see all those people again and sure would be nice to see my parents again.

Miss them all. And all those like them who worked so hard every day to have a better life for everyone.  And all those who taught us children all the manners and niceties of life and reminded us to be ladies and gentlemen no matter the situation.

I know this holiday is for remembering all those who have fallen in the quest to save our country.  And I respect and honor that myself.  I miss a lot of that patriotism that was so prevalent in that day and time too.  I still honor the flag every day at my home.  And I truly respect all this country has stood for all the years.  I miss the moral fiber that always held everyone together, the honor for the parents and the respect for Almighty God and the other things that made us all one big family belonging to this wonderful country.  I remember it all very well.  And I miss all that, too.  I hope we can all get back to that very soon.

Happy Memorial Day!

DEAR GOD: THANK YOU FOR SHOWING US THE WAY

30 03 2012

I have been thinking again and that is always a mistake.  But I started wondering about all the liberal demands upon our time and money. I think I probably heard something on one of the talk shows about how the proposed budget by the Republicans – which I am all for by the way – would take money out of the coffers that pays  for some of the free stuff that those liberals want.

I think  I remember that God said in the Ten Commandments ‘ Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbors Goods’.  Now, as usual, maybe I am wrong, but isn’t that exactly what those liberals are trying to do – covet our goods? Aren’t they actually asking for what belongs to us?  I think God also says somewhere that He helps those who help themselves.  So, to me, that is the final answer to everything.  Those liberals can get out there and help themselves and then they can also learn that God will  help them.

I heard someone say recently that they felt sorry for all those street people and all those in the Occupy movement.  I find that ridiculous.  I am all for helping those who definitely cannot help themselves.  But for those who can help themselves, they need to get a job and start now to take care of themselves.

My husband and I got up every morning of our lives around 5.  We got ready for the day by bathing, combing our hair. brushing our teeth, and dressing for the occasion of another work day.   Then we worked throughout the day and finally finished up sometime around 11 at night.  That is how we accumulated enough money to pay for rent, groceries, utilities, and clothing.  And that is how we afforded to raise all those numerous children that God gave to us.

That is what we thought was expected of us every day in our lives.  Isn’t that what we were taught in our growing up years?  Didn’t our parents do exactly that in their lives, too?  Mine sure did.  And they taught me well.  If I found myself out of a job at any time, then I immediately knew to clean up, dress up, go to the employment agency and get another job.  I was never out of work very long.  My husband got into sales by doing exactly that.  I typed until my fingers were nubs, but this was o.k.  We were progressing.  We were living our lives the way we thought we should.

And we were never asking anyone for anything.  We were responsible for our own lives.  No one needed to feel sorry for us.  We tried and learned and tried again.  Such is life in the fast lane you know.

So once again, I give thanks to my God for everything in my life and always for showing us the way to live a good, honest, decent life.
