A TIP FOR YOU

19 07 2012

Are you just sick and tired of running the dishwasher and then finding that your dishes are still dirty?  Aren’t you just sick to the bitter end of all the so-called helpful innovations that those creeps have fixed for us?  I know I sure am.  I don’t remember God coming to earth and appointing any of them as fixer-uppers.  They must think God made mistakes when He made this world.  I think He did it just right.  So why do we need  them to fix up everything for us.  God knows what goes on here.  He knows all about the phosphates in the dishwashing soap and I don’t remember reading in the local newspaper where He appointed any of those creeps to fix it.  But then you know how they are.  They have been cramming this stuff down our throats for a long time now.  So far, no one has stopped them.

Well, I have a great tip for you today.  If you want clean, spot free, stain free dishes, just put a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in the bottom of your dishwasher when you are ready to run it.  And guess what!  All the dishes get clean.  My cups were all stained almost brown from the tea stains.  And most of the glasses had seen their last shine a long time ago. But I ran the dishwasher with the vinegar in it one time and my dishes were much, much cleaner.  May take longer than one load with some dishwashers and some water supplies.  But at least there is hope here.  And it is cheap, too.  Yay!  About time. Don’t put the vinegar in the little container where the rinse aid is.  Then your dishes will taste like vinegar and that is not the point.  Just pour into bottom of dishwasher so it can work with the tampered with soaps they sell us today.

I haven’t noticed that the world is much better since they started fixing everything.  They fixed the wolf population and the bear population and the deer population.  Just ask those people who live where those populations have been fixed.  Now there are way too many wolves and bears and deer.  And they are all hungry.  That is why it is so cute to see the bear swimming in the pool of a home and the wolves chasing the sheep all over the place and the deer eating the gardens and grass of some residents.  Oh great.  Wonder what they will fix next. Again, God had all that fixed just fine.  The animal populations were fixing themselves just great.  They didn’t need any outside help.   Just leave this world alone!!

We have had wonderful cars for generations now.  But they are going to fix those just as soon as they figure out what to do.  We aren’t going to have enough gasoline so that means it will cost more. And then we aren’t going to have cars that run very far or very fast.  Then what will our teenagers do in their spare time.  All of mine drove all over town, visiting with their friends and running errands for me.  Oh dear!  Must have been something bad wrong with that.  And then our highways will be empty of automobiles and trucks because those people are going to just have to fix that.  And of course they always know best.

Except that they don’t know anything at all and have messed up everything they have touched.  Maybe they can fix the weather this year.  And the weather patterns are NOT because of global warming.  These are the same weather patterns I have lived with in all the years of my life. Some summers are hotter and drier than others.  Some are not.  Some winters are colder and more miserable than others.  But none of this is because of global warming.  This is because the world turns and hopefully, in spite of all those do-gooders, it will keep right on turning.  At God’s behest and at God’s perfect speed.

Thank You, Dear God!

DEAR GOD: THANK YOU FOR SHOWING US THE WAY

30 03 2012

I have been thinking again and that is always a mistake.  But I started wondering about all the liberal demands upon our time and money. I think I probably heard something on one of the talk shows about how the proposed budget by the Republicans – which I am all for by the way – would take money out of the coffers that pays  for some of the free stuff that those liberals want.

I think  I remember that God said in the Ten Commandments ‘ Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbors Goods’.  Now, as usual, maybe I am wrong, but isn’t that exactly what those liberals are trying to do – covet our goods? Aren’t they actually asking for what belongs to us?  I think God also says somewhere that He helps those who help themselves.  So, to me, that is the final answer to everything.  Those liberals can get out there and help themselves and then they can also learn that God will  help them.

I heard someone say recently that they felt sorry for all those street people and all those in the Occupy movement.  I find that ridiculous.  I am all for helping those who definitely cannot help themselves.  But for those who can help themselves, they need to get a job and start now to take care of themselves.

My husband and I got up every morning of our lives around 5.  We got ready for the day by bathing, combing our hair. brushing our teeth, and dressing for the occasion of another work day.   Then we worked throughout the day and finally finished up sometime around 11 at night.  That is how we accumulated enough money to pay for rent, groceries, utilities, and clothing.  And that is how we afforded to raise all those numerous children that God gave to us.

That is what we thought was expected of us every day in our lives.  Isn’t that what we were taught in our growing up years?  Didn’t our parents do exactly that in their lives, too?  Mine sure did.  And they taught me well.  If I found myself out of a job at any time, then I immediately knew to clean up, dress up, go to the employment agency and get another job.  I was never out of work very long.  My husband got into sales by doing exactly that.  I typed until my fingers were nubs, but this was o.k.  We were progressing.  We were living our lives the way we thought we should.

And we were never asking anyone for anything.  We were responsible for our own lives.  No one needed to feel sorry for us.  We tried and learned and tried again.  Such is life in the fast lane you know.

So once again, I give thanks to my God for everything in my life and always for showing us the way to live a good, honest, decent life.

THAT 1% VERSUS THE 99%

15 03 2012

I have been thinking again.  Never pays for me to do that.  But I have been thinking for some time that I really did not understand the terminology associated with the 1% who supposedly have all the money in the world and the 99% who supposedly can’t get enough of that money.  Of course some people really sympathize with the 99% about that.  I do, too, if they try.  But that is the magic word – TRY!!!   And I do not think those that I see on the television screen have ever heard that word before.  They don’t even try to wash their hair nor bathe themselves nor brush their teeth, nor dress decently.  They don’t even try to obtain a nice place to sleep and would rather sleep with the rats on the concrete.

Now, as I said, I was thinking and it seems to me that the 1% are the ones who work and the 99% are the ones who refuse to work.

There are plenty of jobs out there for everyone whether they have a college education or not.  Employers are crying for decent help.  They tell me that when they interview someone, that someone is not interested in working.  They want a job, but they do not want to work.  They want the benefits but they do not want to earn them.  That seems sort of like the tail wagging the dog.  Sort of backwards thinking.

It was always my learning that first you get a job, then you work at it, then you progress, then you are allowed to have those special dreams about family, home, cars, etc.  If you can pay for them because you have a job and you work at it and you progress in that job.  Now, maybe I have it all backwards but it seemed to me that it has worked for generations of people before me and after me and is still working for anyone who is willing to get a job, work at it, and progress.  In other words, they have pride in what they do.  And in order to have that pride, they begin by having pride in how they look by cleaning themselves up and applying for a job somewhere, anywhere, anytime in order to get their foot in the door so that they can work at that job, and progress in their lives.

So that seems to me to be the answer to what the 1% and the 99% really mean.  The 1% works and the 99% does not.  What a shame.  That 99% misses out on all the fun in this life.  They don’t get to feel the exhilaration of a job well done and the pride of knowing they have accomplished anything of value, and the joy of realizing their individual dreams in this life.

I am so glad I have finally figured out the terminology on that 1% versus the 99%.  Simple, too.

PRESENTING YOURSELF

6 02 2012

Look at those Occupiers on  your TV screen.  Those are the ones who did not know how to present themselves when they applied for a job – if they ever did anywhere, anytime.

Not only did they not know how to comb their hair, but they also did not know they were supposed to take a bath and put on clean clothes.  Hopefully, they will remember to brush their teeth and make that smile as nice as possible.

Most of them need to get a haircut, too.  And they might remember that pony tails on men went out of style a long, long time ago.  And women are expected to keep their hair out of their eyes.   No one can work if their hair is hanging over their eyes.  With their hair hanging over their eyes, they probably cannot even see to fill out the application properly.  It is very necessary that a person write legibly, carefully filling out each line the way it should be.

If a person really wants to get a job, there are lots and lots of jobs out there.  Some fields are literally begging for help.

But someone who is satisfied to sleep on the concrete with the rats crawling around them is not ever going to get a job.  Anyone can see that.  Anyone except them that is.  And they are still hollering loud and clear along with the chanting and singing and guitar playing and bonfires and marching, that there are no jobs out there.  But there are.

A person just has to make himself presentable and then present himself to an employer and assure that employer that he really wants a job and WILL work.  That is the key. A person has to be ready and willing to work at the job before he is going to be given that opportunity.

Try it and see.  If you want a job, then go get one.  It is really that simple.  Just present yourself and go to work!

LAUGH! LAUGH! LAUGH!

22 01 2012

When raising a house full of kids, you soon learn that you have a choice.  You can either laugh about things or you can go crazy.  And the choice is strictly up to you.  I choose to Laugh and Laugh and Laugh some more.  No wonder I’m half crazy. But it is o.k.   I don’t care if people talk about me.  Everything is o.k. every single day.

Just this week, I was missing a bath mat from a bathroom.  Could not find it anywhere.  Now, how does anyone lose a bath mat.  I asked all the children and all the children denied knowing anything at all about that stupid bath mat.  So, after looking through all the house, up and down and around, I finally gave up.  Decided the bath mat had just finally had enough and walked away.

I kept mentioning it now and then though and finally one of the children said, ‘Stop talking about the bath mat, Mom.’  This told me she probably had something to do with its disappearance.  I finally asked her if she threw it away.  She said, ‘Yes, I did.  It was about worn out.’  The garbage truck had just come yesterday, so I knew the bath mat had gone to that never, never land of the city dump.  Oh well, guess I would have to replace it when I get around to doing so.

But then, I remembered the rule of the lost items and it is that they almost always reappear when you least expect them.

That brought to mind when I lost a baby shoe many years ago.  And on the doctor appointment week, too. Could not take that poor baby out in the cold without a shoe, so tore up the house looking for the shoe.  Everyone helped but we never could find that shoe.  Had to buy another pair in order to take the baby to the doctor.  I could not afford it at the time but had no choice.  Then a week later, the shoe showed up in the toy box in the kid’s bedroom.  Now, we had torn that room apart and certainly had looked in that toy box a dozen times.  But, as I said, lost items almost always reappear when you least expect them.

And then there was the time my son lost his Sunday shoe on Saturday.  He was walking home from the local swimming pool and made it home with only one shoe.  Now, tomorrow was Sunday and he had to have that shoe to wear to church.  People might frown on a boy with only one shoe.  So, after discerning that he was carrying it home from the pool because he had left his tennis shoes in the pool area the day before and had worn the Sunday shoe to the pool and was carrying it home, then we set out to find it.  Sure enough after driving slowly along the area where he had been walking, he remembered dropping his items in a pile of leaves while he tied his now- on-  his -foot tennis shoe. Then he fished around in the nearby pile of leaves and sure enough, there was his Sunday shoe. See, like I said, those lost items always manage to show up when and where you least expect them.

So, I have learned to laugh and laugh and laugh some more at incidents like this one.

And sure enough, just yesterday, that bath mat was right there in the pile of dirty clothes.  Now, no one knows where it came from nor how it got there.  But, that bath mat knows.  It is a shame it cannot talk and tell us where it had been.  Such is life.  Laugh about it.  Why not.  Laugh or go crazy.

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE

10 11 2011

I look at the television news stories and I read the newspapers regularly and I keep thinking to myself, What in the world is going on here, or at least in this country of ours.  Surely, we don’t have to live through another hippie era with the campouts in the cities and the bonfires and the guitar music and the non productive citizens.  Surely not again!

But then, maybe I am the only one seeing this.  I saw where someone stated for all to hear that this was reminiscent of the civil rights era.  Well, that was originally a takeoff from the Vietnam era.  So anyone can think whatever they wish.  I just wish they would all get up, clean up, and get a job.  Then they wouldn’t have time to worry about how much money someone else was making every day.  They could only worry about how much money they were making.  And then they could think about how they were going to pay their rent, buy their groceries and clothing, provide water for baths for themselves and their families, and then work at taking  care of their own families.  There wouldn’t be much time for camping out in the city, nor playing the guitars and singing around the campfires.

Eventually, most of  those original hippies had to get a job and take care of their own families.  Time for this today.  Enough is enough.  Get on with life.

GET A JOB!

4 11 2011

Well, I’ve tried to stay out of the political situation.  Been sitting on my hands a lot these days.  But things do sort of get to me.  I grew up always being taught I was responsible for myself and whatever I did each day in my life.  I raised all my children in that same way.  Every single person in this world is responsible for whatever it is he or she does every single day of their lives.  Now people can choose to be ugly or mean.  They can choose to rob and steal and pilfer all their lives away.  Or they can  choose to be nice, pleasant, and honest in their daily lives.  I have chosen to be nice and pleasant and honest every single day.  Sometimes I have fallen from grace in my life.  Everyone does that now and then.  But then I have picked myself up, brushed off the bruises, and been responsible for   my daily life.  I think that is what people should do today also.

I am not a politician.  Nor am I too smart for my own britches.  But it would seem to me that these protestors such as they are today, would realize they are their own worst enemies.  If they wanted to work, they would be out trying to find a job.  No one is ever going to hire someone who does not know how to get up off the street and present themselves in an orderly manner.  For instance, if you were running a company, would you hire someone who did not bathe, nor wash their hair, nor get a haircut, nor shave, nor dress properly for a job interview?   I would not.  Neither would any company that I know of.

So, if they are out protesting and cannot get a job, then I would say that was their problem.  Not everyone else’s.  Not Wall Streets nor Main Streets.  Their fault.  Their responsibility to look nice and to present themselves in an orderly manner.  If they wanted to work, they would be dressed nicely, standing in a line to wait their turn at the next job opening, and being pleasant to everyone around them.  Otherwise, then, they are welcome to live on the street, forage for food, and hope for the best – from the government.  This is all they want anyway.  Free life with no responsibility for their own actions.
