OK WHAT NOW!

12 07 2012

So many things going on all the time these days.  And most of it just makes me plumb sick.  For instance, the media has made such an issue about the NAACP booing Romney.  I was taught when I was growing up that nice people don’t BOO.  No matter what you thought of the issue or the person or whatever was going on, you were taught not to BOO!  That was simply bad manners.  So, that could have been and should have been handled in a much more civilized manner.  And the media should not be pushing the story, either.  That is also simple bad manners to promote such behavior.  No wonder our children don’t know what good manners are.

And then there is so much going on behind your back these days.  And most people pay no attention whatsoever.  They don’t even realize their country is being taken away, a bit at a time.  Every day.

For instance, this low interest rate that has been going on and on and on.  Supposedly it is supposed to help us.  HA!  That is interesting.  And, of course those in charge know exactly what they are doing, but most of the people in the country do not.  When the interest rate is held at this low rate, it destroys capital.  Period.

We are a capitalistic country and proud of it!  But as they hold the strings so tight on capital, the capital gradually disappears.  As example, a person has saved a dab of money for their old age, hoping to invest it in whatever will bring them a little income.  But there is no interest paid these days on any investments.  So they cannot buy Money Markets or C.D.’s or Bonds.  Because the interest return on them is not worth the risk they would have to take.  So they sit on their money and as they do this, their money gradually disappears.  Soon, it will be worth much less than it was a year ago or even two years ago.

If a town wants to build a school, for example, they would float a bond issue and then sell those bonds and pay a fair amount of interest to the investor.  And then the investor would have a little more money to put in his bank account, maybe even enough to buy his groceries.  And the overall result for everyone would be great.  Because as the school is built, this provides jobs for lot of people.  Then they in turn can buy goods at the local stores and this helps the economy for the whole town.   And then this grows until it provides even more jobs and more money for people as spendable income.

But those in charge these days are holding the money strings very tightly and not allowing anyone to pay any interest on any investments and so the money dries up, slowly but surely.   And do you know what that does to capitalism?  It destroys it slowly but surely and very soon, we will become a socialistic nation and won’t have anything to say about any of it.  And then people will wonder what happened to our capitalistic country.

So now you will know what has happened to our capitalistic country.  It was because of the money handlers, those in charge of the money  that are running our country into the ground these days.  And it is being done while they moan and groan about how the recession might come back if they pay more interest.  BULL!

Also, they moan and groan some about inflation, too, and that is another ruse.  Inflation can be controlled with a few caps here and there.  So there would be no runaway inflation if they raised the rates a little.  At the current rates, everything is stopped dead still.  Our country cannot move.  It cannot grow and it cannot progress.  This is a simple fact.  And so it is dying slowly but surely, just a little bit at a time.  And nobody even knows it is going on because the ones in charge are masters of deceit.

All this hurts the investor, of course, but it also hurts the banks and the schools and the homeowners and all our families and everyone else who has a stake in this wonderful, marvelous capitalistic country.  Pay attention!  Vote Republican in November and watch this country begin to grow again.

VOTE  REPUBLICAN  for our country’s sake!

THE GREAT AMERICAN DREAM

10 02 2012

I have heard this rhetoric about the class warfare until I am nauseated by it all.  What in the world is going on here.  I thought everyone knew what the American Dream was all about.  It is the opportunity to have our own life and do whatever we think we can to have a better life.  My parents always said that every generation wanted to make America better for the next generation.   They wanted their children to do better than they did.  They wanted those opportunities to be there for all their children and grandchildren to come.  That is the American Dream.  That was the plan before the idiots decided to mess it all up with their agenda.

Now, we can’t find the plan under all that rubbish of theirs.  They are so busy killing the babies and trying to save the dogs, cats, lizards, horses, and other related animals that it is hard to see what is going on in this world.  And they want to tell all of us that we can’t use electricity nor gasoline, nor anything else they have deemed sacred.  As I said, what in the world is going on here.  Why is anyone listening to any of them.

They have never lived the American Dream so they don’t even know what they are talking about.  The only things they have done is to go to school if made to, graduated because they were made to, go to college because someone made them, and then tell all the rest of us how to live.

It must be time to tell them all how to live. To tell them to get a job and enter the American Dream world.   They, too, can have the opportunity for a better life.  They just have to get cleaned up, dressed up, and go apply for a job.  It is past time for them.  The world is passing them up every day.

No one can squash the American Dream of those who really have it in our mind, soul, and heart.  That Dream will be there forever.  We all know what a precious commodity that Dream is.  We are the only place in this whole wide world where we can actually, truly, absolutely make that Dream come true if we are willing to work for it.  So get out and get your own Dream.  That is always free to each and every American.  To pursue his own Dream wherever and whenever he wants to.

That is the true Great American Dream.

THIS GREAT COUNTRY!

6 12 2011

Tomorrow is a very special day – Pearl Harbor Day.  We live in the most marvelous Country in the world.  The good old U.S.A. is far and above any other place on this earth.

I have traveled to lots of places over the years.  Have been to Italy and Germany and Austria and Switzerland and all the Balkland countries and Finland and Holland and Russia and all points in between.   There is nothing to compare anywhere to our wonderful Country.  When visiting Russia it was like stepping back in time to the 1920’s.  Nothing was modern.  Everything was old and used and worn out.  Even the electric wires were strung everywhere out in the open like they used to be here when I was a kid.  Their museums contain almost nothing of any value.  And people watch the visitors like a hawk to make sure no one steals anything.

We have everything we could ever want here.  And we are supposed to be free to live a good life every day in whatever manner we choose.

No matter where I ever went or what I saw, I was always so happy when I put my feet down on American soil once again. Even if I had to wait in the airport in Atlanta for hours and hours in order to make connections to get home, I was still so glad to be here again.  It is just a marvelous feeling to be a citizen of this great country.

So tomorrow, if you think of Pearl Harbor, say a prayer for  all those who gave their lives in that horrendous war and thank them once again for all they have given to you.   As is said, Freedom isn’t Free.    And it most certainly is not.  Treasure it.  Thank God for it.  We are the most blessed people in the world.

STUFF AND MORE STUFF

19 10 2011

I am sitting on my hands every day and trying to stay out of the political fray.  But some day I am going to just blow up.  I have never in all my days seen such a rift between the ideas of people politically.  I cannot understand some of what I read because it is so far out to the left.  How can anyone believe some of their statistics and some of their rhetoric.  At times, it just simply makes no sense at all.

For instance, this so-called Wall Street Protest.  What in the heck is that all about.  Get up in the morning, get dressed APPROPRIATELY, apply for a job and take whatever you can until you can get on your feet and get a better job.  I always just went out and agreed to work wherever I was sent by the employment agency and somehow I got a job when I needed one.  Might not be what I wanted, but it was a job and it paid me a salary and it provided food for the table and money for the rent.  That is what a job is all about.   It is not about how many degrees I have.  Nor how many benefits will be offered to me.

Benefits are not the most important thing.  In fact one employer told me one time that when someone came in and immediately asked what benefits were offered, his answer was ‘what will you do for me to make me money’.  That is what a person is in business for – to make money.  If he does not make any profit, he has to close his doors.  Simple as that.

Then no one would have a job at that business.  So, someone needs to tell these wanna’ be hippies that they need to get up in the morning, get dressed APPROPRIATELY, and go apply for a job.  Somewhere, doing whatever they need to do to get paid and be able to provide for themselves.

Well, there I go again.  Wasn’t going to say anything, but then I saw someone painted up with tattoos on the tv screen today protesting Wall Street.  Like they know what in the heck they are protesting anyway.  How do you protest a district or a building or a name.

Sure makes me wonder about the ideas in people’s heads these days.  So much for that.

9/11 AND GOD

11 09 2011

I noticed this past week that all the news  carried the story that the New York Remembrance of 9/11 would not allow clergy to pray during the service.  I, like many others in this country, was appalled at that.  But then, there was really nothing we could do about it anyway.

And we can all say all those remarks that we have heard a million times about how this country was founded on Christian principles and how we all should pray at a time like this.  But then, like I said, we couldn’t do anything about this anyway.  But we still have our own thoughts.

But then, this morning I was watching the service in New York and I, like many others, was very impressed with the marching Scottish band, and the sound of the drum.  And then, the young choir that sang the Star Spangled Banner the way it should be sung.  That was wonderful!  And then, the unfurling of the flag that had been at the World Trade Center.  All of that was just marvelous.  I was very impressed with the whole service.  And that young man who talked about his father not being there when he graduated from high school and how he had helped his younger brother to learn all those things his father would have taught him.  That was a truly grand speech.

But then former President George  Bush stepped up to the microphone.  And he read from a letter by President Abraham Lincoln that told of a death in the Civil War and how he was writing to comfort the survivors of the lost one.  In that letter, President George Bush quoted that Abraham Lincoln PRAYED TO GOD  that the survivor would indeed be comforted.     Thank you, George Bush.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  By doing this, George Bush injected GOD right where he should have been all along, right in the middle of that service honoring all the dead from the 9/11 World Trade Center Memorial.  What a marvelous thing he did for all of us since we couldn’t  do anything about it anyway.

And Thank You, Dear God, for all the things you have done for all those survivors.
