LITTLE CHRISTMAS

6 01 2011

Just a reminder here.  Did you know that today, January 6, is celebrated as Little Christmas?  This is when the Three Wise Men brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the Infant Jesus.  They followed the star and  presented the gifts to Jesus lying in the manger in Bethlehem.  What a marvelous story.  Just thought you might like to know about this.

By the way, we went to Cologne, Germany  one time and in the huge Cathedral there, I noticed three gold boxes on the Altar.  I asked someone what they were and was told they were the Three Wise Men’s remains.  I was also told that at that time in history, it was important to have the remains of someone important in each new Cathedral in order to attract people to that Cathedral.  Couldn’t check out the story as no one was around to ask.  The story can probably be checked out on the Internet now.   If  you ever get a chance to go there, by all means, visit the Cathedral.  Absolutely, positively beautiful.  Worth a trip.
